Guard Your Heart “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” ~Proverbs 4:23-27
HeartLand Summary Guard your heart. Protect and keep a close watch on your feelings and mind. Maintain your thoughts. Guard them like a prison warden, because from out of your heart comes your nourishment and your strength. Your heart is the source of what keeps you and makes you alive. This is the place where God saves, where He lives and gives new life. Through your heart comes restoration, refreshing and recovery. This is the place where you are made whole.
Turn away from perverse speech. Depart from a distorted, false and crooked mind. Move yourself far away from vain words. Make sure your eyes are looking straight ahead and your eyelids are kept in front of you. Prepare for yourself a stable road to walk upon. Mentally weigh out the path you are going to take your life's journey on. Make every way certain and firm. Make every road faithful and ready. Never turn aside to the south or to the north. Turn your foot away from doing evil and wickedness. Walk away from doing wrong and from hurtful things.
