TRUSTING GOD AT ALL TIMES; HE IS A HIDING PLACE FOR US |
"Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle forever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah." ~Psalm 61:1-4
Prayer is the best place to start when it comes to nurturing a relationship with God. It doesn't have to be something tedious and conjured up or a formal ritual- but it does have to be sincere.
Whether we're lifting our heart to God or pouring it out; whether we're laughing and praising Him or crying with tears of grief and sorrow- prayer is important. When we communicate and open up our hearts to Him we include Him in our daily lives. Let all those who trust in the Lord declare:
"God is our Refuge and Strength [mighty and impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken into the midst of the seas, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling and tumult. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!" [Psalm 46:1-3 Amplified]
Find one or two prayers that relate to where you are in your life right now. Print it out and recite it when you have time. Do this as often as you can, until it becomes a living part of your heart and spirit. You can even record it and play it back as you go along in your day. This is one way you can use the Word to cleanse your heart and mind [washing your heart and mind with the Word of God]. These prayers encourage and empower me. They help me live a God-centered life. I pray they do the same, if not more, for you.
