BELIEVING

IN THE ONE

WHO CAN

MAKE

THINGS

NEW

HeartGuard is a section of HeartLand Christian Resources to help others become more knowledgeable and discerning about the different forms of abuse that may be operating [openly or subtly] in their lives. I want to bring this to the forefront because the Lord has revealed many forms of abuse that have been working in my life [unbeknownst to me]- as well as the abusive ways I have acted toward others.

BE STRONG IN THE LORD AND IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT

What do I mean by abuse? First I will take it from a Christian standpoint. As Christians we will be persecuted. I do know that abuse does not happen just because we are Christians- but from a spiritual perspective- it is the enemy trying to break our spirits and tempt us to sin [when we abuse others from our wounded heart]. This can turn into a vicious cycle.

DON'T BE A VICTIM

The first step is recognizing and accepting that you are being abused. Is this an excuse for you to engage in bad behavior against your abuser? NEVER. Once you are spiritually enlightened, God will give you revelation and spiritual tactics to deal with the abuse and your abuser[s] through the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. Keep the word hidden in you heart, it will give you wisdom, encouragement and spiritual strength.

YOU MUST STAY IN THE WORD OF GOD

We are called to be wise as well as innocent. We must be spiritual discerning- but at the same time refrain from all types of sin [lest we fall ourselves]. We have to guard our hearts so that we will not become spiritually wounded [have a wounded heart] and walk in the flesh. We must filter what is said and done to us and walk in the TRUTH of God and His word.
